A Tic Toc mechanism is a type of Point of Sale display. It has a hand that moves left and right. For this assignment we had to design a graphic to fit this mechanism and it had to be a visual pun. Was a challenge to come up with an idea for this one because of the requirement to make a pun, I brainstorm a few different ideas, the one I went with was a bit of a lame pun but more unique and something I thought I could have fun with so I rolled with it. This point of sale was designed for a quirky bar having a 2 for one sale on whisky.
Most of the pieces of this design was printed on A3 210gsm silk, but I also used 300gsm (for the whisk to help it support it better) as well as transparent paper for the glass. The chalkboard was made by painting on some thicker stock with chalkboard paint and handwriting on the paper with chalk. Not part of my original idea but since the glass didn’t take up all of the A4 I added some bottles to the page and later using them in the mid ground to give the background bottles some depth.
